    Dumb question... This insurance covers equipment needed during construction projects, so things like cranes, right? Does it also covers any liability to third parties arising during operation of such equipment?

    Finally, I assume that it's standard for commercial fire policies to cover the machinery in factories as well as the actual buildings?

    Injury due to a faulty machinery / instructions would be covered under product liability insurance.

    Injury to employees operating the equipment would be covered under EL.

    Other injuries (eg the machine operator accidentally drops a steel girder onto grandma's head) would be a public liability risk. Typically this PL cover is included as "package business", ie sold alongside the construction cover. However it could be covered under a stand-alone PL policy.

    Thanks Katherine - the thing that's confusing me is flashcard 23, (from chapters 2 and 3), which states that claims are 'reported and settled quickly, except for serious damage and liability claims' - which I didn't think were included...
