I read on my exam permit where it says we are not to write answers in pencil, but in pen. CT7 will more than likely require us to draw graphs. Are we allowed to draw graphs in pencil? Also are we to draw the graphs on our script or on separate sheets of graph paper?

    Thanks,
    Renee :)

The exam scripts will be photocopied so the pencil won't copy very well. You could draw them in pencil first and go over them in pen or you could practise them on rough paper first and then draw them straight onto your script. If you make a mistake you can always cross through the diagram and start again.

    Graph paper for CT7

Should we draw our diagrams on graph paper (for accuracy?)

If graph paper is available then yes.

More importantly, you need to draw your diagrams very accurately regardless of the paper available. So:

    (1) use a ruler to draw axes and straight lines

    (2) make sure the curves have the correct shapes

    (3) make sure that they fit together correctly, eg MC cuts AC at its minimum and MR cuts the Q-axis halfway between the AR intercept and the origin

    (4) draw large and clear diagrams (1/2 a page in size).

    Good luck. :)
