In chap 9, page 21, Topic 4.4(Type 2):

It is an annuity which is payable to y after x's death but upto maximum of 'n' years.

My ques is how to denote the EPV of such annuity in symbol form.
Is there no specific symbol of such annuity? Or it is mentioned later on somwhere?

I have tried to write it symbolically as upto my knowledge. Is it correct?

Thank You,
Shikha Agarwal

Think about it from first principles. You know the notation for an annuity payable to y after the death of x. But this is payable indefinitely which will be too long because of the n year limit. So you want to deduct the value of an annuity payable to y n years hence assuming he still is alive at that time. Sometimes drawing diagrams helps.
