On the derivation from first principles the last term in the Chapman Kolmogorov Equation is tpx24*hpx+t44 As 44 is an absorbing state this latter term becomes 1. So my understanding would be it becomes tpx24*1 However in the solutions it becomes tpx24*1-tpx24 hence they cancel out Would it be possible to explain why this is the case?
