The ACted notes says that Type I censoring is a special case of right censoring. What about Type II censoring? I would think this was also a form of right censoring but the notes do not explicitly say this.

    thanks in advance!

My feel is that if it's not all that important, it won't be emphasised again and again in the notes. In any way:

Type 1 = if the censoring times are known in advance.
Type 2 = if the outcomes (such as number of deaths) is known in advance. Eg: we will stop observation once we have recorded 10 deaths.

Thanks jensen. You're right about the fact that if the notes don't explicitly say it - it's probably not important. I just hate having gaps in my knowledge!!

i totally agree. If it's not worth mentioning, then they should have just drop it all together.
