Hii all, plz help me with the following queries of Unit-II :-
•ch. 6 (pg 26)- here in ex. 6.7 how do we know the limits of x?
•ch.8(pg 9)- (vi) part of qus. 8.5, how it is solved? what I got is. 4<10X<48= 0.4<X<4.8. = 0<X<4.5 ( as 4 inclusive given) where I did wrong?
•Assignment-X 2 qus. 2.6- I am confused about which distribution is for N and which is for X here? At first glance, it seems that the neg. bin. dist. is given for N as it is about no. of claims but in solutions it is for X dist?plz rply asap..I shall be thankful

    Because x and y are Poisson and take values 0, 1, 2, 3, ... and x+y = z hence x goes from 0 to z.

0 won't work, as 10*0=0 which is not greater than 4.

Both are a kind of N as we are not measuring total claim amount but total numbers of claims. So in this case the N is the number of policies with any claims and the X is the number of claims on each of these policies.
