    Why hadn't we considered var(Bxi)?

    Because \(\beta x_i\) is a constant.

    Is Xi not a variable here? Since it is bivariate data with variables x and y. Then how ßxi can be constant?

    Look at the model given on page 24 of the Tables, \(Y_i \sim N(\alpha + \beta x_i , \sigma ^2)\).

    The x is lower case whereas the Y is upper case.
