It doesn't affect the MLE so it is not necessary to know it's value. It's called a multimnomial and is the same as binomial combinations but extended to more than 2 choices. If you have 100 values split between 2 groups, 60 in one group and 40 in the other it is: \(\frac{100!}{60!40!}\) Hence, if you have 100 values split between 3 groups, 60 in the first group, 30 in the second and 10 in the third it is: \(\frac{100!}{60!30!10!}\) And so on.
