    Qus. 3.5- how the constant I.e. the combinational factor given in the solution has come?? Yes it is due to different possible arrangements... but how it has come.. plz explain using combination formula.

    It doesn't affect the MLE so it is not necessary to know it's value.

    It's called a multimnomial and is the same as binomial combinations but extended to more than 2 choices.

    If you have 100 values split between 2 groups, 60 in one group and 40 in the other it is:

    \(\frac{100!}{60!40!}\)

    Hence, if you have 100 values split between 3 groups, 60 in the first group, 30 in the second and 10 in the third it is:

    \(\frac{100!}{60!30!10!}\)

    And so on.
