    Hi,

Could i ask how is the CRLB in Q12 (i) (c) derived? I don't really understand why the expectation of M is n/theta.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

M is the number of readings from a sample of n that are less than 1. The readings are indep, each reading is either <1 or >=1 (two possible outcomes for each trial), and P(reading <1) = 1/theta. So M ~ Bin(n, 1/theta) and E(M) = n/theta.
