You can view the ActEd brochure on line .... there's a link from the home page. £68 buys core reading but think carefully whether that alone will meet your needs. In theory yes, but remember you will need to do lots of past papers etc. Also you need a copy of actuarial tables which is available from the Institute (not ActEd). You can fax your order to ActEd or apply on line. Happy studies!
