In this question Xmax and Xmin distribution are required to obtain. The definition for Xmax would be sufficient for exam prospective?

Another thing for Xmin total function is subtracted again from 1. This is quite unusual can anyone please help me to understand this?
On next page 56 part 5, while derivin Xmax for MLE, again a different pdf is used... Please explain a little bit as I am not able to relate This.

And please clarify that can I use original pdf if Xmax for MLE and derive the next step.

    Please suggest it's urgent

With maximums you have to use F(x) as if max < c then all other x's are less than c.

With minimums you have to use 1 - F(x) = P(X >x) as if min > c then all other x's are more than c.
