We all know the dangers of this in contract design but I was wondering what the impact is when answering CA1 questions.
This questions comes largely off the back of the mock exam I have just sat, the question when something like this...

a) Explain what factors affect the rental yield on property [4]
b) rental yield is affected by which factors on property [10]

(there are many other similar ones in past papers)

Clearly the answers may overlap but part b requires more detail. If you wrote something in a section that came under the mark scheme for the other, would they allow you any marks?

I want to know this to know if it is ever necessary to repeat yourself in different parts of the question.

Cheers

Hi

The answer to your first question is "yes" - you would get marks even if you made points under a part different from the marking schedule. :D (The Examiners' Report for CA1 Sept 2007 Paper 1 explicitly says this in respect of one of the questions on that paper and says that it's always the case.)

So, no, it should never be necessary to repeat yourself in answering different parts of the question...

Best of luck with the remainder of the revision....
