Hi All, For the CT4 2016 Sept exam Q10 (ii), they ask us to calculate the probability. However, they give 1-hazard rate as the answer. Shouldn't it be 1-exp(-hazard rate)? Thank you in advance
Hello Looks to me to be a mistake here. We don't have enough information to calculate probabilities (we don't know the general form for the baseline hazard). I also agree that what is in presented in the report doesn't appear to be a probability of survival or not. The Examiners' Report states that all reasonable interpretations of the question were given credit. In our ASET solutions we present one solution as just calculating the hazard for the female life and leaving it there. Hope this helps! Andy
