Who really cares about the conservatives anymore.
But I may well do if Ken Clarke was at the helm.
David Davi.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

hi
i seem to recall before the election tehre was article in actuary about waht parties actuaries could support..
if i am not misatken, i think there could have been some bias from qualifieds earning at least well in excess of upper quartile salaries towards conserrvatives as they would face a lower tax bill....

so maybe u may care about tories fate when you are senior actuary earning lots of money! lol

Voting for a party simply because you'll pay less tax isn't right!
If it was the deciding factor then maybe, but remember these people are going to determine the political future of the country.
How many of those people who have been on the streets protesting at a government decision do you think actually voted, and voted properly? If more did then they might not be a need for such protests in the first place.

Can you say that you are completely apathetic as to what future direction this country goes in for everything from Europe and foreign conflicts to National Health and Tax? Only if the answer is yes can you have any good reason for not voting, whether it is for the actual government, or the people that will represent your views.

I'd like to live in a country where it's safe to walk the streets. Where violent people are locked up rather than released.

I want to live in a country where the nurses actually care about their patients and not about how they are over-worked and underpayed.

I want to live in a country where people believe in community over self.

I want to live in a country that is run in a truly democractic way.

Then quit your actuarial career and start to work full time in charitable work.

If the tories dont choose Clarke that's it forget them , they dumped on Heseltine before him and this is their last chance with a natural PM.

Ha Ha

all that the above is and will ever be is an ideology.
You can have all the above apart from Democracy, Singapore, Saudi arabia.

As for truely democratic.

well this is as good as it gets. even with Proportional Rep, it aint gonna get any better.

Face it Society has got far too much inertia for any real change to take place.

Tony blair is the best leader this country has got at this moment in time. And that is saying something.

I think the tories should get an Alf Garnet type person. He would certainly be a laugh.

His famous words were, "If you want democrasy, then you have too shoot some people."

He would deal with the problems we face in this non perfect society
What a charactor.

Mate dont take it the wrong way. I use to think like you before. I soon realised that society has got too much inertia.

After the war, the hatred for the tories grew, support for the labour party increased. people just wanted happy lifes and members of the labour party created a state where everyone had work, healthcare and help from the state.

but this could not last, because the mix of people in the country and those running it soon changed.

I have to get down to work, but will give a better explanation later on.

Take care

:)
