Conditional Formatting

Discussion in 'CA2' started by madame_actuary, Nov 6, 2014.

  1. When doing the data checks, I normally have a formula that shows Error or Ok. I also usually use conditional formatting to highlight the error cells.

Can i also do this for the CA2, and highlight that i used conditional formatting it in the audit trail maybe?

I think in addition you'll need a comment somewhere to say what the check is, probably in the audit trail.

No reason why you can't do this, although I'd generally be wary of spending too much time on fancy bells-and-whistles formatting.

First rule of clarity is: keep it simple. The examiner is more concerned with the fact that:
    - you've put a check in
    - you've noted in the audit trail that the check is there
    - the check is clearly visible on the sheet, and it's clear what it's checking.

Having a bunch of fancy red & green OK and ERROR cells is pointless if it's not clear what they're checking. Focus first on getting the message across well. If you have time at the end, then go ahead and make it pretty.

  4. Thanks will keep that in mind
