    Hi All,

I know generally PMI doesn't cover chronic conditions like hypertension/arthritis, etc. So does this mean that the drug costs are covered by the Government?
Really I'm trying to figure out if all aspects of the management of a chronic condition are not covered by PMI (so maybe drugs are covered but surgeries/diagnostic tests would not be?)

    Thanks.

    Hi MindFull

What is paid for by the government will vary from country to country. For example, all prescriptions for medicines are paid in full by the government. In contrast, in England the patient pays a fixed fee for each prescription and the government pays the rest. Similarly what is covered by insurance will vary between insurers. So I'm afraid there are no hard and fast rules.

    Best wishes

    Mark

Thanks Mark.. I guess if it comes up in the exam, I'll just state the assumptions.
