Chptr 13 - Old Past Exam Papers - Subject QG and G; Subject 9A and 9B

Hello,

In Chapter 13 mentions about some old exam papers Subject QG, G & 9A, 9B.

Not think they are available in IfoA, the oldest I could find is 403. I wonder if anyone found those past papers and has a link to share?

Yes these aren't available online, but you might be able to find some old papers hanging around your office. Perhaps you could ask some of your grey-haired colleagues!

Remember though that older papers tend to be less relevant, the exam style has changed and the real world has changed too. I imagine you'll find the more recent papers more useful.
 
By the way, papers older than 1999 are available from the IFoA library (Oxford or London I believe). The librarian there has been helpful in the past!
 
What is the difference between 303 and 403? I can see both are General Insurance papers. Was it compulsary to give both for fellowship at that time or how did it work in those days?
 
303 is equivalent to the current SP level subjects. In those days there was only one GI 'SP' exam - now there are two SP7 and SP8.

403 is equivalent to the SA level subjects, so in this case SA3.
 
Thanks for the quick response! I understand that these papers are old but would you still suggest to start with them or directly jump to more recent ones ? Any suggestions on the year to start practising past papers from?
 
No, start with the most recent and work backwards. Go back as far as you can, but bear in mind that the older you go, the less relevant the content and style of questions may be.
