Choosing between ST1 and ST5

Hello,

I have recently appeared for ST2 (May 2015 sitting) from the Indian actuarial society. Results for the same would be announced around July 1st week.
I am not too confident of achieving a PASS grade. Now, I am confused between choosing ST1 and ST5.

ST1 because of the inherent synergies and if I fail ST2, I can easily switch to ST2 halfway and hopefully pass that one.

On the other hand, I am interested in the syllabus covered in ST5 and also, it has a higher pass rate with the UK actuarial society.

Please help me choose which exam should I start preparing for.

Thanks
Regards

The points you mention are all valid. Ultimately I don't think this is a decision anyone else can make for you!
Personally, I would choose between subjects on the basis of what I find the most interesting. Interest generates motivation and motivation drives success. So if you are more interested in ST5, then broaden your knowledge base and pursue your interests, and go for that.

But ultimately, it is, of course, up to you!
Good luck with whichever you choose.
Robert
