Does anyone know if using the Excel functionality for doing a chi-squared test is acceptable for the exam when validating data?
The function I am referring to is CHI.TEST. It's much quicker/simpler than doing a Chi-squared test by first principles.
    Thanks.

Yes you can. Provided you document how it works in your audit trail, there will be no issue with this. (And 'how it works' includes making it clear that you understand what it's doing, and it's not just a black box to you)
