I have a doubt in question (III) given on page 29 of chapter 2
I did not understand how did we calculate the one step transition probability for the conditions when j=1+i and j=i
I did understand that
1. j=i+1 refers to the one step transition case, but why is Xn=i
2 j=i refers to the case where there is no change in state, but why did we write Xn = n-i
