    Hi

What is the best way to learn all the different indices? Have they been asked as book work questions in previous exams? I find it very tiresome reading this chapter due to the nature of the content! Help

Hi, Its a bit like all bookwork, the way that works for one might not for another. You could create small table with the main indices on it, and in the columns list: number of constituents, weighted or unweighted, style (ie equities, investable bonds, industrial companies only ...), other features (eg total return index, yield indices, ...)
But then you need to learn it :-(
It doesnt come up that often. The most likely is "two tracker funds have experienced different performances. One tracks the S&P and the other the Dow jones. Discuss the possible reasons for the performance difference".
