Not able to figure out the difference between mean response and individual mean.An example with explaination will help. Thanks in advance.
Mean response estimates the y value assuming that it lies on the line (the mean of the points). Individual response estimates the y value of a individual point which if you recall is on average on the line - but is distributed around it with variance \(\sigma^2\). Hence it has the same mean but a variance that is \(\sigma^2\) more.
