Hi On page 13 where the notes demonstrated the effect of cat losses on the triangulation, can anyone get the same results as the notes suggest? Specifically for Version 1 and Version 3. For Version 1, I got 11.11m, but notes suggest 11.93m. For Version 3, I got 3.6m in total, but notes suggest 3.8m. My version 2 matched though. Thanks.
Dear Jensen, I have knocked up a spreadsheet (attached) which gives a breakdown of the numbers described on page 19 of Chapter 13. It is difficult to know how you obtain your numbers without seeing your calculations, however hopefully you will now be able to see what you have been doing wrong. As an aside, you are given the £3.8m in Version 3 as the original amount of the hurricane (in contrast to the £4m cost of Versions 1 and 2); you are not required to calculate this. Thanks Katherine. I found my mistake; I added the cat loss to only one development year instead of all subsequent years.
