I did not understand why the annuities are divided from 60 to 65 and then from 65 to 75. Can someone please explain the solution?
 
I did not understand the solution of question 9.22 in chapter 9
I thought the solution should have been a60:15 - a60:60:15(type 2 reversionary annuity)
 
we have to keep in mind about condition given here that jack must die before 65 and before vera.
so pv of annuity untilheer 65birthday would be annuity payable to vera until her 65 birthday minus pv of annuity until joint life status fails.

then we would add pv of annuity payable to her for 10yrs given that jack has died
