Hi all, Got a couple of questions, and would appreciate your help... (1). I have been having trouble answering the big mark questions, and specially with the amount to write. any advice or tips? (2). What chapters have you given more attention to during your preparation? (3). For those of you who did not get through at the first attempt, what have done differently afterwards? What are the things NOT to do? (4). When should someone start learning the material? Thanks in advance,
1. Long questions Look at the qn carefully - there are often clues... Big/Small/New/Mature all tell you something about what to write. Think broad. They will be looking for more than a couple of points that you flog to death Expand. If you are talking about margins, are they +ve or -ve? Think can you split down topics. If its a pension and you are talking about mortality, think about pre & post retirement 2. What to concentrate on. A dangerous game! They have a nasty habit of asking what you may have thought superfluous. 3. Resitting Get some fresh material eg if you didn't do a mock before, try one now. Better to have to think on your feet rather than have a distant incling that you have seen the qn/ans before. 4. Learning Big course. Try to learn at least the basics on the way through. But I like at least 4 weeks for revision/past papers Good luck
I think you need to start learning the material now. It is such a large course to get everything ingrained into your memory. I used flash cards to help memorise everything and also sound revise - without it I don't think i would have learnt the notes throgouly. Also of all the courses where you may gamble and concerntrate on certain parts of the course notes...this course is not one of them. Would try to be an all rounder on this one!
