    Isn't it a bit unfair for the core reading to make statements like these, and then the exam requires students to know the same things considered to be ''out of syllabus''?

    For example the topic Exotic Options (the part on Exchange Options/Margrabe) in the Core-reading reads; ''A formula for valuing this Option can be derived by considering both asset prices U and V following geometric Brownian Motion, but the detail is beyond the scope of this course''.

    However I remember one past ST6 paper with a question where this was asked?
