I think Acted should be prepared to supply older CMP packs such as 301,302,303,304 and 305 at a discounted price to those who have paid for CA1 and ST1-6 materials. I'm always looking for suitable material even if it is only a little different.

I would also like to see more than two years Mock papers on sale

    Comments from Acted Tutors please

Well, there's always the old exam papers and reports on the Institute website, plus lots of ActEd questions (especially tutorial handouts) have older questions. If ActEd produced older CMPs, it would be hard to work out which questions are relevant still and which aren't, and I presume ActEd wouldn't have time to sort out which are relevant on our behalf.

I always find there's plenty to get stuck into already!

It's not really a case of producing them is it as they already exist! Its really the new CA12 exam, which is a composit, that they would be useful for.

It is interesting to know that there are handouts from acted tutorials though! It seems a very expensive way to get handouts though. I've done 9 exams and I haven't been to a tutorial yet. I don't really need anyone to hold my hand and my employer is very tight fisted (I'm self employed).

I like to turn up to exams better prepared than 95% of the competition and you can never get enough stuff even if it is only partially relevant. Buying study material is a lot more cost effective than paying for tutorials IMO

Re old CMPs - please drop ActEd an email and ask for specifics - happy to quote although not convinced of extra value. (Sorry if you have already - please ask again.)

Re old mocks: most of the old mock questions are recycled into the current material (eg added to assignments, Q&As etc) replacing questions that are dated or no longer on the syllabus.

Re handouts: the vast majority of the handout questions are old past exam questions (although some earlier than those on the Profession's website - they might still sell hard copies of the pre-1997 exams though). Hence, if you use the past papers then you'll see most of these. But I would hope that handouts aren't the most valuable element of the tutorials.

One of the successes of this forum is that it allows an extra communication channel with Acted. I'm in an unusual position of having no day to day contact with actuaries or actuarial students. In fact the only contact I have with actuarial students is 20 minutes before the exams.
My original request on this post was perhaps slightly inappropriate, but this thread has allowed a reasonable solution to be worked out with Acted, for which I am very grateful

    Thank you
