Just wondering if anyone knows the grade boundaries for the assignments (i.e. 80% for A, 70% for B etc...)??

Is it true that the assignments are harder than the exams?

Would like to see how far I was from the next grade!

    Thank you...

They aren't necessarily harder as exams vary in difficulty and pass marks will vary accordingly. Assignments cover bits of the course rather than across the piste except mocks so again hard to gauge. Some find them hard because they have yet to consolidate learning.

Far better that you focus on comments you get and where you go wrong than get hung up on grades.

If you want to see how well you do against peers, ActEd have graphs of the distributions of marks achieved which you may find enlightening. They are on the site but can't remember where.

Also bear in mind your attempt conditions in assessing your progress.

    For CT1 about 75% gives A, 65% gives B, 50% gives C, 35% gives D.

But there is marker discretion - depending on whether you showed good understanding, did it with notes, etc, etc.

We try to make them at least exam standard (in fact some questions in the assignments are old exam questions). But we do try and cover all the topics (including some of the esoteric ones) and also you won't be at exam standard yet - so they may seem quite hard...
