    Hi,
I was attempting a Past exam for SA6 (September 2001 - Paper two), where in Q1(iv), the examiner requires comments on the assets allocation of the a pension fund. and the comment in examiner report for this part is "Answer should be based on comparison with current UK Pension fund median or average asset allocations for balanced, non-property, fund as for WM, CAPS etc.

could any one tell me where can i get current information regarding the asset allocation of a balanced UK pension fund?

    Thanks,

    asset allocations

Hi, This question is a bit old. Sine then, most schemes have moved to liability- based asset allocations. Myners report was largely to blame for this, as well as the accounting and regulatory changes that have happened. As a result this type of questions couldnt be asked any more, as most schemes have their own unique asset allocation based on liabilities, and the concept of an average peer group doesnt make such sense any more.
