Why is purchase expenses added to other items when calculating the net asset value?

The offer and bid prices are rounded down to a pre-defined number of decimal places for example rounding up would be in the company's favour or down would be in the policyholder's favour. Wont this only be beneficial with offer price and not bid price?

The management box could be used to absorb the effects of a one-off outflow. Please explain.
