    Hi All,

Not sure if it belongs here or in General study. But I'll try.
I am struggling with the decision whether to have a go at CP3 this sitting.
I am planning to sit SP2 in April as a first of the "higher" exams.
I went through Core Principles without any failed exams quite quickly, but I was bit intimidated by the specialist exams.
So I started pretty studying pretty early and I will finish CMP more than 2 months before the exam (usually I managed this only 1-2 weeks before exams).
I know it'll take a lot more practice to be prepared for the exam and to keep up the level of knowledge.
However, I've been thinking to add up a CP3 since I've heard it is a kind of hit or miss exam.
On the other hand, I am think whether I should leave the CP2 and CP3 to the end, once I will be more experienced and clear rest of the exams and focus purely on the SP2 at the moment. I am not an excellent communicator and not a native speaker so I guess it would take a lot of practice to prepare.

What's the usual strategy in doing the CP3 exam? Do you guys sit it together with SPs or standalone/w CP2?

    Any input appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
In my personal experience, i sat CP3 and CP1 together some 2 years back. It did work out. But i did practice loads for it. I barely used the notes and used the online classroom to understand what was required. Then i practiced past examinations (2015 to 2019) to understand how the exam is. You may wish to note that CP3 started around 2017, if i am not mistaken the older CA3 past exam can still be helpful(skipping the presentation part). Just to be sure i was in the right track, X Series assignment marking and mock marking helped me. The markers gave me constructive feedback (saw this with increasing scores as and when i submitted!).

Given you are saying you are not an excellent communicator, i would suggest you would need to spend more time in practicing. And that depends on how much time you have available. If you are already prepared for SP2, then you can focus on CP3 more until you gain confidence to sit for it.

Hope this helps. Best of luck.
