    Hi all -

In Sept '09 I sat, and failed, ST5, due to what I suspect was a lack of real world understanding.

Are there any publications/books/websites I should be reading to help with ST2 and the real world applications?

(I do work in Life Insurance so should have some help here!)

    Thanks,

    Steph :)

I think wider reading is less important in the STs compared to the SA so it may not have been the weakness.

When doing the subject in which you work, don't fall into traps like answering with what you do in the office. You may go too deep so read the question very carefully.

General reading - look at presentations from conferences that colleagues may have attended, The Actuary articles. But do make sure you know the course very well. Lots of past paper practise and getting feedback on your efforts could yield more dividends than broad reading.

    Good luck
