acted should allow marker to mark scripts on past exam questions

I find doing past papers more relevant than doing Acted assignments or mock exams!

Anyone agrees?

So why don't Acted let their tutors mark our scripts done on past exam questions?

Also I think Acted have been very lazy in updating their questions - why?

Of the past 4 CA3 papers, three of them have presentation questions. So why can't Acted put more such questions on their assignments?

Let's start the discussion...

We are perfectly happy to let tutors mark scripts from past exam questions, or indeed any other non-ActEd material that students want us to mark. For this extra-curricular activity, we charge as for personal tuition, the details and prices of which are given in our brochure. Please bear in mind that for non-ActEd material such as past exams, we don't have access to examiners' schedules and so we have to put together our own marking schedule - which may take extra time.

We are very mindful of the possible change in emphasis that the examiners seem to have taken in the last few sessions. If the emphasis on presentations continues, then yes, we will look to change our material accordingly. At the moment, there are already 8 presentations in the assignments, Mock exams and Q&A Bank. We also have to be careful as we have no indication that the trend will continue. We don't want to give the impression that presentations questions will be the norm, unless we have indications from the examiners that this will be the case in the future. We will review the situation when writing next year's material (which comes out later this year).

Hope this helps.
