Q5 Sep 2022 P2: This contains questions on the accounting concepts, but these are not in the notes, though were in the earlier exams. Can this content still come up on the exam?

Furthermore, part iv is a follow on from the bookworky part iii, though there does appear to be some content in the notes related to it. So I'm just wondering could this question come up in a similar style?

Hi - could I just check your exam reference: did you mean Sep 2012 rather than Sep 2022?

Assuming that's the paper you are asking about, then yes: explicit reference to the accounting concepts has been removed from the Core Reading since then.

If you look in our ASET product (2014-2017 papers) you will see that we have therefore excluded Q5(iii) from the past paper reference grid, but have continued to include Q5(iv).

As you say, there is still some content in the notes that supports the solution to Q5(iv), so it is still worth including it in past question practice. However, if something like that were asked now, we would perhaps not expect it to have quite so many marks allocated to it.

Bear in mind, though, that knowledge from the earlier subjects will be assumed at CP1 level, and accounting concepts are covered in Subject CB1.

Thanks very much for the reply Lindsay. This makes sense. Apologies for the reference error
