Question for ActEd really, but answer may be useful to others, so I'm posting it here... When are the CA1 2008 packs available? Are there any big changes from 2007? Thanks OLT
Doing a search on actuaries.org shows there is a change document for the syallabus/core reading for 2008. Runs to 21 pages and links to Unit 1 & 2 of core reading on Professionalism & Stakeholders. How this translates to changes in ActEd material.... Pass; next qn! Enjoy
Ca1 Cmp 2008 The 2008 Materials should be available to order from Monday 10th September. The main changes to CA1 for the 2008 exams are described in the CMP Upgrade (which can be found on the ActEd website from mid-October). There have been a few fairly minor structural changes. The most significant of these are: - Chapters 6 and 7 (The role of insurance and reinsurance and Introduction to financial products and customer needs) have been merged into one chapter. - Chapters 39 and 48 (Setting discontinuance benefits and Insolvency and closure) have been merged into one chapter on "Discontinuance". - Chapters 30, 31 and 32 (Developing an investment strategy, The relationship between assets and liabilities and Asset management) have been merged into two chapters on "Developing an investment strategy". This has affected the chapter numberings.
