Hi all I've been completing the assignment series for this subject (SA1), and have noticed that I'm getting good marks but for way less points than I would expect. I thought the rule of thumb was 2 points for every mark? I seems closer to 1 good point for every mark based on the assignment marking and comments - is this right? Cheers! Bryce
The profession has been updating its marking schedules to give 1 mark to the most important ideas in a solution, while still giving half marks for the majority of points. We have tried to do the same in the assignments and mocks, so if you look at our marking schedules in the solutions you will see that some points are scoring 1 mark. As a result, we expect the pass mark to be a little higher, so that the pass rate remains unchanged. However, the majority of points will still be scoring half marks, so I would still aim for 20 points in a 10 mark question. Best wishes Mark
