Hi I'm doing SA4 at the minute but remember a really useful list from ST4 setting out the issues a pension scheme should consider when setting its investment strategy. I think I got it from a tutorial. It was things like size of scheme, maturity etc. I think there were about 10 things on it. If anyone can remember it it'd be much appreciated!! Thanks Kathryn
I'm not sure about the ST4 list but I was looking at a similar thing yesterday and two of the old 301 lists are useful here (I think...): There's good old SYSTEMTEE first (yes, the other two e's are mine): Security Yield Spread Term Exchange Rate Marketability Tax Expenses Expectations then there is what I've called 'loserr tos' Liabilities (x5 - nature, term, uncertainty, currency, future accrual) Other funds (yeah, not very Myners in SA4 world, but anyway might be worth a point) Size & returns on assets Existing portfolio Restrictions Risk Tax Objectives Solvency requirements
It's the second one - brilliant!! Thanks. I tend to write all these great notes, which I take to the exam (to read beforehand - not during!!), which I then bin once I've done the exam. Not very forward thinking I know!! Now I've got the list I've not got any excuses not to study now Thanks!! Kathryn
I was quite shocked by the masses of mnemonics I had for 301! I'd even typed them all up in different fonts! Must have had too much time on my hands.... very glad i kept them though....
hang on to them - once you have qualified you can always impress some unsuspecting student by reciting them nonchalantly... (reading off a cheat-sheet of course!!)
