Exam technique - Discuess (SA3 - Sep 21)

Hi,

I got a question about how much we need to write for the command verb 'Discuss'.

I'm looking at The Examiner report for Sep-21 - Question 2 iii) a). For example, the examiner report states "More business interruption claims and general liability claims due to lockdown causing closure of businesses [1]"

- is the above sentence enough to score 1 mark for a 'Discuss' question? Or does the examiner report include the "short version" of the answer, which would not score a full mark?
- I noticed that I tend to write more to answer 'Discuss' questions so I'm wondering whether I'm wasting time.

Thank you!

Yes, for the example above, that would be enough to score the full 1 mark.
However, sometimes the points in the examiners report are the 'short version' as you call them. For example, if you see a 1 mark point that just says 'comment on reinsurance', then you'd need to say more to get the full mark, you couldn't just say literally the word 'reinsurance' and expect full credit.
