Does SP7 or SP8 require more time to study?

Hi,

Which one is harder and will need more time to prepare and study for?

Thanks.

Hi Indexo

Not a simple question to answer. The IFoA guidance on study hours is the same for both. Some people find SP8 easier if they like maths (there's arguably more number-work in SP8), and some prefer SP7 if they like 'wordy' questions. But it also depends on what area you work in, and what you generally find easier to understand (reserving/capital or pricing).

Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Ian
