   I didn't see any change in the CMP upgrade pack, so my question is how do we derive the first equation in the solution?
   
   When I look at the formula and the solution, it seems to me the solution should be for P_r-1 / P_r-2 instead of P_r / P_r-1. Am I right?

   Might be the gamma function that's confusing you. Replace Gamma(n) with (n-1)! and you should get the right result.
