I understand that Examiners wish to see all working when using excel as a calculator. For a goodness of fit question for example, would I need to show the exact calculation (with values) for each standardised deviation or could I simple state that: z_x = (observed deaths - E_x^c*graduated rate)/sqrt(observed deaths - E_x^c*graduated rate) And then copy and paste an image of the table with explanations of the columns in the same style as above? Thanks in advance!
Hello Personally I'd be doing the latter, clearly stating the formula that I'm using for the individual standardised deviations and then copying over a table having done the calculations in Excel. Andy
