What exactly is a selective decrement?

Discussion in 'CT5' started by Johnson Adeleke, Sep 11, 2018.

  1. Withdrawal is a selective decrement and so is ill-health retirement yet with-drawers tend to have a lighter mortality while ill-health retirees tend to have a heavier mortality.
The only understanding I can garner is that a selective decrement is something that changes the weight of the remaining lives after its removal.
