Variance of a joint distribution

    I am trying to figure out how var(U) = Integrate U from 10 to 20 U^2 *u/150 du minus (140/9)^2
    I cannot understand how the first part of the solution was arrived at [U^2 *u/150 du]for this from CS1-04 page 26 of the 2021/22 materials

    This question is a continuation of the question that starts on p8 of Ch4. On p8 we show that the PDF of U is u/150 for 10<u_20. So E(U^2) = int from 10 to 20 of u^2 f(u) du = int from 10 to 20 of u^2 * u/150 du.
