Are we expected to know the factors for the standard formula calculation or to carry out all these calculations in the exam?

In theory Sumrah, all Core Reading is examinable. However, I very much doubt they'd realistically expect you to memorise the factors. Some of the formulae are easier to memorise than others. As far as I can recall, only the formula for the MCR has ever been examined.
...and my learned colleague has reminded me: The risk margin was also examined a few years back, including the nitty gritty detail of which risk-types should be included in the calculation.
