Role of clearing house

    Chapter 2 splits the role of the clearing house into futures markets and options markets, however it is not very clear to me if there is a distinction at all, the roles seem to be the same to me?

    I dont really see why you say its split. the title of a section does say "role in the options market" but apart from that no clear distinction.
