In part (i) of this question, we are asked to calculate. If i i only perform the calculations and produce the required table, and if it is correct, will i score full marks? I'm trying to understand how necessary is the explanation given below the table in the solution. I do understand that it helps in case some calculation goes wrong, but assumimg they are correct, can we score full marks without giving the explanations?
You can refer markings for calculation questions in the Examiners report of April 2018, assuming same marking ideology. https://www.actuaries.org.uk/docume...ng-exam-paper-and-examiners-report-april-2018
There isn't any solution in the Apr'18 report which answers a calculation question with an explanation. Can you tell me about the 2015 Qn?
I can't tell specifically, however you can check papers from September 2016 exams, markings had been provided since then.
