In a general case, suppose if I take (alpha/2) = 2.5% and my null hypothesis is rejected in the solution done by me.
While, the solution has (alpha/2) =5%, and is showing that H0 is accepted , so will my solution be held valid if I state correctly my assumption and my answer?

    Hoping for an early response.
    Thank you

If the question states alpha level of significance then use that level.

Otherwise 95% l.o.s is accepted generally.

    Depends on the question wordings.
So if asked to test for say alpha % of significanse level then it should be alpha.
And have not specified alpha then 5%

Also depends on whether it is one or two-sided test.

If it is one sided, then do we use only alpha and not (alpha/2)?
