MCR - Market Risk

    The core readings explain how MCR for non-life underwriting risks are calculated under the standard model. However do individuals sitting for the exam need to know the MCR for other risks?
     
  2. The MCR is calculated based on the technical provisions and the written premiums - so this is a proxy for insurance risk (not just underwriting risk).

    The MCR makes no allowance for other types of risk.
