    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how we are going to receive our results this year?
Will there be a pass list again this year or are we just receiving letters via our IFoA account?

Is there any ActEd tutors that know the answer to the above?

I checked the website - doesn't mention anything.
What i find worrying is that last year they released the results around 2 and 4 July and they are increasing exam fees and increasing time to release results and on their emails they say they are testing controls to endeavour releasing results sooner...

The current plan is that there won't be a pass list and students will receive their results letters as usual. Employers have been asked to inform the IFoA of any students they have working for them, to allow them to be notified of the results as well. I've also read somewhere that information that you would normally receive through a Subject Access Request (mark breakdown) will also be provided as standard with results letters.

Sorry that we don't know any more than that explained by Patron.

    Hi Patron,

Can you please tell where you got this information? As per my latest knowledge there will be pass lists given as the old style itself. If you may check the below link, it mentions the date of releasing the results and publishing of pass lists. Here's the link I am referring to:

    https://www.actuaries.org.uk/studying/exam-bookings/exam-dates-2020

There is no change in exam pass list release and publication of the same.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,
    Shdh

Yup, I agree with Shdh, this is what I have seen too.
The SAR thing is still not confirmed, the IFoA said they would endeavour to release the SAR in the Members' Area in the IFoA website but nothing concrete yet. This has been mentioned in the minutes of the SCR forums that take place twice in a year after exams and are available in the IFoA website.

Employers have been asked to provide the ARNs and exams of their students that are sitting exams. Action 6 of Nov 2019 SCR forum minute notes confirms pass lists are not (planned) to be produced for April 2020.

    Hi patron,

Can you please share any link or file of the SCR meetings that you're referring to. I'd like to read them as well. Should stay up-to-date with the happenings of the profession.

    Thanks,
    Shyam

As far as i know, this has not been done on an international basis as i can confirm many employers in the country where i live have not been contacted by the Profession to ask for ARN.
I believe that pass lists will be published as communicated by the IFoA in its website. Giving a call to the Education services confirm the same.

There is actually no intimation from the institute in this regard. Maybe this change would be implemented from September diet. As the exams are nearing in, passing on such sudden news to the students might not settle in well.

If the institute is facing problems wrt students with same name, they can provide the ARN of students in the pass list (for all or for those who have same names).

The main reason for the change is GDPR - they can get in to trouble if they publish the result of someone who would rather not be included on the public pass list. I wouldn't be surprised if they leave official communication to students until fairly late because it doesn't really impact on students at all. For employers there is more of an impact, especially with things like processing salary increases based on exam passes.

Does anyone know at what time on the Tuesday / Thursday the results will be released? the letters were usually available around 9am UK time on morning after the pass lists were published. Also do you know if we will know the number of candidates who sat the exams / and number who passed? How are they dealing with the people who opted out of the online options?

In the student email this morning, there was no mention about the number of candidates who sat/passed or those who opted out. But it did confirm 6pm results.

    Examination results – a reminder
We will no longer be publishing pass lists for IFoA Examinations. You will be able to download your results letter from the My Account area of the IFoA website from 18.00 UK time on the following dates:

    • Core Principles subjects (CB1-2): Tuesday 21 July
    • Core Practices, Specialist Principles and Specialist Advanced subjects: Thursday 23 July
Some of your employers have data sharing agreements in place with us, which they will have already agreed with you. If this is the case they will receive information on your recent examination performance directly from us via a secure delivery platform (this will not include CB3 and UKPM).

To make sure your employer can access your examination results, please ensure your details are up to date on our system.

    Qualifiers lists
We have reviewed publication of qualifiers lists in the UK’s The Times newspaper and decided that we will no longer publish them. We have made this decision because data shows the audience amongst members for these publications is limited and we want to offer all our members, wherever they are in the world, the best possible value and service. However, we will still publish these lists on the IFoA website.

We will be in further contact over the coming weeks with information and updates on our September examinations. Thank you once again for your patience and understanding as we move to a full portfolio of examinations in September.

Did you get an email with the results or did you have to login into your account to download the exam letter or check exam history?

Is the website crashing for everyone else? Really disappointed in iFoA. We wait nearly 3 months, only for the website to crash on results day...

I expected nothing less. There has never been a time when the website hasn't crashed!

It's really not on. Does this happen with other professional qualificatio bodies? e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA or CIMA?
