Hi all, regarding the BF method, how do you obtain the ppn claims paid to date? For example in 2018, the ppn claims paid to date given is 0.5362 but the culmulative paid claim amt of 19,619 divided by the independent utimate of 49,413 gives only 0.3970. Thanks in advance for your help!
From the basic chain ladder projection on page 63. Remember the BF method is a credibility-weighted average between the basic chain ladder method and the initial expected loss ratio method.
